All you need to know about Brexit

Generally several nations come together to form the union or Group which will be helpful for economic & political cooperation. Similarly some nations which are in Europe region are formed into group named as European Union(EU).
In fact this group is considered to be a Single nation. Following are few important areas needed to be considered
- It have single market i.e free transportation and trading between nations in EU.
- People can move more freely from one nation to other without any restrictions.
Some nations may think that they are loosing a lot in group instead of gaining. One such country is United kingdom.
Today i.e June 23'rd a referendum is happening in United kingdom. Referendum to know opinion of the people whether United Kingdom needs to be a part of European union or not.
How referendum idea comes to play?
Prime minister David Cameron Promised to hold one referendum if he won the 2015 General elections, in response to growing calls from his own conservative MP's and the UK Independence party (UKIP), who argued that Britain had not a say since 1975, when it voted to stay in the EU in a referendum.
Features of European Union(EU)
- Present strength is 28.
- The Population is above 500 million.
- In 1950 Six countries of the region came together to pool their coal and steel resources(Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
- A treaty was signed in Rome after 7 years and European Economic community(EEC) is created in 1958.
- In 1993 EEC became EU(from economic to political union).
- From then EU functions on rule of Law. There are no borders control.
- UK, Ireland and Denmark Joined in 1973.
- Slowly the strength increased and in 2004, 10 countries became the members.
- Croatia is the latest to become a members in 2013.

In referendum if people of United Kingdom decides to stay with EU , UK will be provided with Special status in EU.
